WHAT IS A BEAR TRAP?

The single most powerful pattern in ES futures — and the only one SultanBot hunts. Understanding it changes how you see every market move.

The Institutional Playbook

Institutions can't buy size at market. They need liquidity — and retail short sellers provide it. The Bear Trap is how they manufacture that liquidity on demand.

Price drives below a significant low (prior day's low, a multi-hour bounce level, or a cluster of lows). Retail traders panic and short into the break. Institutions absorb every sell order — this is their accumulation zone.

Then price snaps back above the level. The shorts are trapped. They must cover — and every cover order pushes price higher. That's the short squeeze that drives our Target 1 and Target 2.
